A physicist who became a technologist. A lifelong seeker who found stillness in a fast-moving world. Max built Koru not as a product — but as a promise: that every person, regardless of where they start, deserves a guide for the journey inward and upward.
Every great mission begins with a story.
Max Patel grew up in a household, where spirituality was not a practice — it was the air he breathed. Alongside devotion came a burning curiosity about the physical world. He pursued a Bachelor's degree in Physics, fascinated by the laws that govern space, matter, and existence itself.
Following his passion for understanding systems, Max transitioned into computer science — seeing technology as the bridge between human potential and real-world impact.
Somewhere along the way, a question took hold that would define the rest of his life: what does it mean to truly live? Out of that question came a transformation. Max turned inward and outward at once — deepening his own inner practice, studying the mind, mastering his body, and seeking out the wild: mountains, trails, and places where the noise of the world falls away. Close friends and family started calling him a Modern Monk — someone who honours ancient wisdom while living fully in the modern world. Science and soul, not as opposites — but as partners.
Max built Koru because he could not find what he was looking for: a single place that honoured the whole human — body, mind, and spirit — guided by intelligence and powered by genuine care. Koru is his life's work, his offering, and his way of making sure everyone on this journey has a guide beside them.
A physicist at heart, Max chases the big questions — testing truth through science, and searching for meaning through philosophy. For him, the two were never rivals; they are two languages describing one reality.
He finds the sacred in the everyday — a quiet inner practice that grounds everything else.
Mountains, trails, and open skies are his second home. Max believes the wild restores what modern life drains — and that the best thinking happens far from a desk.
Practised daily and without exception — discipline is not a habit, it is a way of life.
Everything he builds is an act of giving back what his own journey taught him.
“We want to inspire every human being who needs coaching — not just for their body, but for their mind, their spirit, and their smile. Koru is our way of leaving the light on for others.”
